The HyperFlux P.R.O. Plus Raman On-Line/In-line Process Instrument delivers an order of magnitude over conventional spectrometer designs

TORONTO, June 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Tornado Spectral Systems Inc, an instrument designer that delivers rapid, real-time discrimination across a wide range of chemical analysis and process control applications, announced their latest product launch – The HyperFlux P.R.O. Plus: Process Raman Online.  A suite of Tornado's products will be showcased at ACHEMA in Frankfurt, Germany Hall 4.2 - Stand P56.

"The June 2015 general release of our flagship Raman process analyzer - HyperFlux P.R.O. Plus - is a convergence of engineering and technological innovation that is an order of magnitude improvement over the de facto standards in the industry," said Edward Albe, VP Marketing & Strategic Partnerships of Tornado.

Tornado's new HyperFlux P.R.O. Plus redefines what is possible with process measurements using the power of Raman spectroscopy. The newly re-designed High Throughput Virtual Slit (HTVS) enhances the spectral throughput by an order of magnitude over conventional designs providing superior photon management. This permits process measurements to be done faster, with better sensitivity and allows preservation of samples with the use of lower laser powers where required.  The HyperFlux P.R.O. Plus satisfies ATEX requirements where the highest sensitivity is essential.  Read more

Product Launch: Handheld NIR Spectrometer Enables Onsite Animal Feed Analysis: microPHAZIR AG

microPHAZIR AG designed to ensure consistent feed quality with minimal process disruption

Farm feed manufacturers can now perform near-instant feed quality analysis with a new pre-calibrated handheld instrument, designed to help feed manufacturers identify out-of-specification ingredients before introducing them into the production process.

The handheld Thermo Scientific microPHAZIR AG analyser allows manufacturers to perform on-site analysis to test ingredients and finished feeds to optimize nutrient formulations, reduce manufacturing costs and improve consistency.

•    Supplier Evaluation
•    Incoming Feed Inspection
•    During Manufacturing
•    Before Final Inspection

“The feed manufacturing industry is facing increased cost pressure and requires technology that delivers timely and accurate results,” said Dan Klevisha, business development director, Thermo Fisher Scientific. “The microPHAZIR AG analyser offers lab-quality performance in a handheld platform, allowing analysis anywhere in the manufacturing process and throughout the supply chain.”

The microPHAZIR AG is pre-calibrated with the industry leading INGOT™ (Aunir) calibration for feed ingredients, providing accurate analysis of protein, moisture, oil, ash, fiber, starch and other parameters.

The microPHAZIR AG offers a number of benefits:

•    Easy to operate, requiring only a few minutes of basic operating instruction;
•    Simple data reporting, since results can be directly exported into a spreadsheet, laboratory information management systems, or feed control systems.

The instrument employs near-infrared spectroscopy (NIR), already a preferred quality control technology in the pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries, which works by exposing samples to various wavelengths of infrared light. The absorption of the light is then used to quantify various quality attributes of the sample. By automatically comparing sample data to libraries of known infrared spectra, NIR spectrometers are designed to provide accurate materials analysis in real time.

  1. Thank you to all the Attendees of our Workshops throughout the UK in April 2013: cGMP Handheld Analysis - it was great to meet you all and we look forward to visiting you all in the coming months!
